UB:Student found dead in her room

The motionless body of sakwe Mariette a level 400 student of the university of Buea found in her room on the 20th of May

Sakwe Mariette a level 400 female student of English private law was reportedly found dead in her room on the 20th of May 2022 at about 9pm

Her neighbors say that “She was lastly seen in the morning and was not seen throughout the rest of the day

Sources have it that her boyfriend was unable to reach her on phone and decided to come by her place to find out what was wrong with her, together with some neighbours, they forced open the door and found her dead on her bed.

The cause of her death is not yet clear, though family members say she was an epileptic patient and might have passed away due to a seizure. May she rest in perfect peace🕯.

Cameroon: Preparation for national unity day 20 May

Cameroon is seven days away from celebrating the national unity day which comes up on the 20th of May 2022 under the theme ‘Defense and services force at the service of the people in preserving social peace and national cohesion guarantee for an emerging Cameroon’

20th May is a day chosen in Cameroon to commemorate President Ahidjo abolishment of a Federal system of government to a unitary state.

After they signed the referendum,Cameroon became a one and indivisible country, which is why every year on the 20th of May Cameroonian commemorate this day.

This year 20th May, Cameroonians are already seen practicing for the great match pass, students are getting set,as well as soldiers and civil servants. All Cameroonians are encouraged to actively participate in this event and make it a memorable day for themselves

Cameroon:Pregnant girls given a chance to continue education

Minister of secondary education Nalova Lyonga bans the expulsion of pregnant girls from school.

Professor Nalova Lyonga, has introduced a new guideline which she addresses it to the Divisional Delegate, Educational Secretaries and principals on how to accommodate students who get pregnant.

According to the Minister expelling of pregnant students encourages discrimination and causes girls to drop out from school.

With this , she ask school authorities to allow pregnant girls or women in schools till the 26th week,after which she may be given maternity leave.

Again,the students should be given permission to resume studies after going through health and disciplinary procedure. This also applies in case the person responsible for the pregnancy is a student.

She emphasized that teachers who get students pregnant should receive sanctions .

University of Buea: JMC To Celebrate world Press Freedom Day

The department of journalism and mass communication in the university of Buea join the world to celebrate 2022 edition of the world Press Freedom Day, coming Tuesday May 3 ,2022 Under the theme ” Journalism Under Surveillance”

The conference will commence at 8:00am at Dorothy Limunga Njeuma Amphitheatre (Amphi 750). The guest speaker for this edition will be a an expert journalist with the public media sector in Cameroon, Mr Eno Chris Oven and veteran journalist from private media Mr Arison Tamfu.

During this occasion there will be price awards for the best students of the departments and staff , followed by a football match at 1:00pm between JMC and CAMASEJ ending with a gala night as of 8:00pm at Las Vegas Molyko Buea.
